Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Valsad Special Operations Group (SOG) detained three men wanted in connection with the Oct 3 murder of Punjab-based social media influencer Madhusudan Singh, alias Mad Sandhu, in Amritsar. Punjab police took custody of the accused on Oct 10.The accused were identified as Harsimranjit Singh alias Simu Singga, Fateh Singh and Arman Singh, all residents of Sange village in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district. They were traced to Vapi in Valsad district after senior officials of Punjab police’s Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) shared inputs with Gujarat ATS.According to ATS officials, Sandhu was shot dead by two unidentified assailants near a car washing centre on Loharka Road in Amritsar. He had gone to collect his vehicle from a service centre when the attackers, riding a motorcycle, allegedly opened fire. Sandhu succumbed to his injuries while being taken to a hospital. A team led by Valsad SOG PI D D Parmar detained all three accused. The trio was later brought to the Gujarat ATS office for questioning. During interrogation, investigators gathered details about their alleged roles in the murder and the reconnaissance carried out before the shooting, ATS officials said. The detentions come after the city crime branch earlier arrested another accused, Parminder Prasad alias Parminder Kaka, from Vadaj in Ahmedabad. Acting on inputs from Amritsar police, the crime branch tracked him down in the city, where he was allegedly trying to evade arrest after fleeing Punjab.Investigators alleged that Parminder carried out the firing and arranged the motorcycle used in the crime.Police began probing the involvement of gang members in the killing after a social media account linked to Goldy Dhillon allegedly claimed responsibility for the murder.
