Ajmer: A 40-year-old man has been arrested from Gujarat for allegedly sending a hoax bomb threat email to the District and Sessions Court in Ajmer, police said Thursday.The accused, identified as Faldu Hardik, a resident of Somnath, allegedly sent the threat to the court’s official email ID through a fake email account.Ajmer superintendent of police Harsh Vardhan Agarwala said the email was received at 11.19am on July 17, claiming bombs had been planted in the district and sessions court, collectorate and circuit house. “Following standard protocol, dog squads, anti-bomb squads and other police teams conducted thorough searches of all the premises, but nothing suspicious was found,” Agarwala said.Police said the investigation revealed that Hardik allegedly used Haroon Govil’s email ID to send the bomb threat to implicate him in a criminal case over a financial dispute.Police said they are also examining whether the accused has any links to similar bomb threat emails sent to several locations across the country, including multiple districts in Rajasthan, over the past six months. Other security agencies have been informed due to the sensitive nature of the case.According to police, preliminary investigation did not reveal any previous criminal record against the accused. He has confessed to sending the email only to the Ajmer court.
