A speeding car struck a pedestrian near Ek Murti Chowk, causing serious injuries

NOIDA: A man suffered serious injuries after a speeding car hit him while he was crossing the road near Ek Murti Chowk in Greater Noida earlier this month. A video of the accident has now surfaced on social media, showing the pedestrian being struck by the car and thrown onto the road.The Bisrakh police have arrested the driver allegedly involved in the accident and seized the Tata Punch car used in the incident. Police said the vehicle has been brought to the police station as part of the investigation.According to the information available, the accident took place at around 4.35am on September 5 near Ek Murti Chowk. The victim was crossing the road when a car allegedly travelling at high speed approached and hit him. The impact caused him to fall onto the road, leaving him seriously injured.People in the vicinity rushed to his aid and took him to a hospital for treatment. The man sustained fractures to his legs, hand and knees, besides suffering a fracture to his spine. He is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.The accident came to wider attention after a video of the incident surfaced on social media. The footage shows the man attempting to cross the road before being hit by the speeding car. Following the collision, the driver allegedly left the spot with the vehicle.Police subsequently traced the vehicle and initiated action against the driver. The Tata Punch allegedly involved in the accident was taken into custody and deposited at the police station.A senior officer at Bisrakh police station said the accused driver had been arrested in connection with the case. He added that the car involved in the accident had also been recovered and seized.
