Govt must focus on jobs, fair recruitment process: Maya
BSP chief said that the govts need to focus on giving people govt jobs

Lucknow: BSP national president Mayawati on Monday said that there is a need to focus on creating more govt jobs and corruption-free recruitments.“It would be appropriate to stop the sale of national assets into private hands and promptly starting time-bound recruitments free of paper leaks and corruption for lakhs of vacant positions in govt departments,” Mayawati said.In a post on X, she said that it was well known that her party, BSP, had created nearly two lakh new govt positions in the police and panchayati raj departments during its tenure in UP. “By lifting the ban on recruitments, our govt facilitated the appointment of several lakh people from all sections of society,” she added.“Our party has repeatedly demanded from the central and state govts to take effective steps to check rampant inflation, extreme poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, deteriorating health systems, backwardness, forced migration, women’s insecurity, paper leaks, and corruption,” she said, adding that all govts have largely remained “indifferent and negligent in most cases.”“However, now, when the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which particularly includes educated young men and women affected by unemployment, have raised the matter through a 36-day movement at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, and the country’s education minister had to resign over it, the govts need to take note of it,” the BSP chief said.Mayawati noted that even if one person in a family gets a govt job, it will directly benefit others in the family and give a sense of security to SC, ST, and OBC communities.“The govts should give up the business-oriented mindset and uphold Constitution’s true humanitarian and welfare-oriented policies and principles,” she said.“It is necessary to end the ongoing deadlock in Parliament session regarding issues raised by the protesting students and unemployed youth so that govt bills be debated before being passed,” Mayawati added.
