Goa and Mizoram exchange youth delegations

Panaji: As part of the Yuva Sangam Phase VII programme, under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) initiative of the Union education ministry, Goa has been paired with Mizoram, and 57 delegates will visit Goa from the north-eastern state. A team of 55 delegates from Goa also left on Saturday for a week-long trip to Mizoram. The youths from Goa are accompanied by five staff from NIT Goa.The programme is aimed at fostering cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and national integration among the youth of Goa and Mizoram. Through interactions with local communities, visits to places of historical and cultural significance, and exposure to Goa’s rich traditions, heritage, and developmental initiatives, the delegates will gain first-hand insights into the state’s unique identity and way of life.The delegation from Mizoram includes five faculty members of the Central University of Mizoram, two representatives of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the rest will be undergraduate students who arrived in Goa on Oct 10. The students will reside at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Cuncolim.They will visit different key heritage sites, taste local cuisine, and interact with the governor and representatives of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).The initiative will also provide an opportunity for participants to share the cultural richness, customs, and traditions of Mizoram with the people of Goa, strengthening the spirit of unity in diversity.
