Ghaziabad: A fire broke out at a closed furniture showroom in Sahibabad on Sunday due to a short circuit. Firefighters extinguished the flames within an hour. On Saturday night, a car caught fire after colliding with a truck in Tronica City, with four occupants sustaining minor injuries.The first incident was reported around 11.30am on Sunday, with four fire tenders being dispatched to the spot from the Sahibabad and Vaishali fire stations. Fire officials said the blaze broke out on the ground floor and spread to the first floor of the building. More units were dispatched from the Kotwali station, and firefighters brought the blaze down by 12.30pm.“The building housed furniture manufacturing work and a furniture showroom. The furniture and other goods kept in the godown were burnt and damaged. No loss of life of any kind occurred in this fire incident, but we saved the 90% of the valuables at the building,” chief fire officer (CFO) Rahul Pal told TOI.

Earlier, around 10.30 pm on Saturday, a dumper truck collided with an Aura car near the Mirpur Hindu Dumping Ground in Tronica City. The car flipped in the collision with four occupants inside. Passersby rushed to their aid and pulled four members of a family out of the vehicle, which later caught fire after they had all been evacuated.All occupants only sustained minor injuries, and no police complaint has been registered in the case, Tronica City police station SHO Kuldeep Dixit said.
