Ahmedabad: Following the completion of the regular admission process across Gujarat University and other state universities, Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS) portal has reopened registration for students who cleared the supplementary exams held by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).Online registration will remain open on the GCAS portal from Aug 17 to 23.Previously registered students will also be permitted to edit or update their applications during this window.Between Aug 17 and 25, affiliated colleges can grant admissions to eligible candidates based on their individual merit lists against remaining vacant seats. Students securing an offer must visit the respective college in person to confirm their seats.As with earlier rounds, no cutoff marks will be published on the GCAS portal. Officials clarified that this will serve as the final round of the admission cycle.More than eight admission rounds have already been conducted via GCAS for state-run universities. Although the portal was initially slated to hand over the admission process to individual universities after three rounds, centralised registrations and allotment through the portal continued.Out of approximately 5.5 lakh undergraduate seats statewide, over 3.42 lakh students have confirmed admissions since the process was decentralised to colleges. Earlier, around 2.26 lakh admissions were recorded directly through GCAS.At Gujarat University, 55,249 students have taken undergraduate admission so far, leaving over 15,000 seats vacant across affiliated colleges. In postgraduate courses, around 15,000 students have confirmed their seats at the university.Across Gujarat, postgraduate courses account for nearly 1.70 lakh seats, of which around 90,000 admissions have been confirmed to date.
