Varanasi: Three people were killed and six injured after a four-wheeler carrying nine people overturned after hitting a roadside tree in Azamgarh on Tuesday. The group was returning after visiting a Ganesh pandal when the accident occurred on the border of Saraimir and Phulpur police station areas.Azamgarh CO Phulpur Kiran Pal Singh said the nine people were travelling in the Punjab-numbered car from Phulpur towards Saraimir, when their speeding vehicle went out of control.Satyam Modanwal (20) and Nikhil Gupta (17) died on the spot, while Lucky Sonkar (19) died during treatment at Phulpur hospital.The injured include Ansh Sonkar (17), Anmol Modanwal (18), Kishan Modanwal (20), Saksham Barnwal (17), Anurag Pandey and Shagun alias Kaustubh Pandey.On being alerted, police reached the spot and, after an initial investigation, sent the bodies for postmortem.
