Free Wi-Fi service launched at BHU hospitals

Varanasi: A free high-speed Wi-Fi service was inaugurated on Thursday at Sir Sunderlal Hospital and Trauma Centre at Banaras Hindu University.The service was launched through the collaboration of Varanasi Municipal Corporation and BSNL to enhance public access to digital services. The inauguration of the facility was done by Mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari.Through this facility, patients undergoing treatment at the hospital, as well as their attendants, will have access to uninterrupted internet connectivity within the hospital premises, enabling them to obtain health-related information, stay connected with family members, and access various online services.Anil Kumar Gupta, principal general manager, BSNL Varanasi, said that each user will be entitled to two hours of free internet usage per day, with internet speeds of up to approximately 320 Mbps.BHU vice-chancellor, Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, commended the initiative and remarked that digital connectivity has become an essential component of modern healthcare servicesProf. K. K. Gupta, medical superintendent of Sir Sunderlal Hospital, and Prof. Saurabh Singh, in-charge professor, Trauma Centre, expressed gratitude to the Mayor and BSNL for this facility.
