Rajkot: Four members of a family — two brothers and their young children — lost their lives after the fuel tank of a mini-truck exploded on the outskirts of Nakhatrana town in Kutch on Saturday evening.The victims were involved in the scrap collection business and used a mini truck. After collecting scrap across the town, the two brothers returned to their yard to unload the vehicle. While they were unloading, their two children were standing nearby.“The vehicle’s diesel tank suddenly exploded, killing both brothers and the two toddlers on the spot,” a police officer said.The deceased are identified as Mamad Iliyas Kumbhar (30), Noormamad Iliyas Kumbhar (26), Hasnen Mamad Kumbhar (3) and Noor Fatima Noormamad Kumbhar (3). The sudden and tragic loss of four lives from the same family has sent shockwaves through the community.Vikas Sunda, superintendent of police, Kutch (West), said: “It seems to be an accident. However, we have informed the forensic team and we will investigate what caused the explosion.”
