Gandhinagar: Former Gujarat high court judge Biren Vaishnav was on Wednesday sworn in as the new Lokayukta of Gujarat at a ceremony held in Gandhinagar.A notification issued by the general administration department stated that he will have a tenure of five years. Governor Acharya Devvrat administered the oath of office to Justice (retd) Vaishnav at the Lok Bhavan, an official statement said.Chief minister Bhupendra Patel, Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi, cabinet ministers and senior govt officials were present on the occasion, the statement added.
