Pune: Former chairperson of the Maharashtra State Women’s Commission (MSCW), Rupali Chakankar, on Monday filed a case of defamation against multiple individuals.This includes women office-bearers of different political parties from Pune and across the state for uploading alleged defamatory and objectionable content on social media sites and the persons who wrote alleged objectionable comments below these posts.Chakankar lodged a complaint with the Pune cyber police stating that these comments and contents were uploaded on different social media sites when her name surfaced in the Nashik-based astrologer Ashok Kharat’s case. She claimed she had appeared before all the authorities who had summoned her and also answered all their queries. “Despite this, multiple fake, misleading and objectionable content were uploaded by women office bearers of different political parties from Pune and other parts of the state and many people wrote objectional comments under these posts,” Chakankar said.
