Chennai: A 22-year-old law student was killed and his friend injured after their motorcycle hit a median and an earthmover ran over him on Sardar Patel Road near Anna University on Wednesday morning.Police said Ulagapathi, a second-year student at a private law college in Guindy, lost control of the motorcycle while riding to college. He and his friend were thrown onto the road after the bike hit the median. An earthmover behind them ran over Ulagapathi, killing him on the spot. His friend was admitted to a government hospital.Ulagapathi, son of former Melur AIADMK MLA Periya Pullan, was staying in Thiruvanmiyur while pursuing his studies.The Mylapore traffic investigation wing sent the body for post-mortem and registered a case. Earthmover driver Rajesh, 40, was booked for causing death by negligence.
