Varanasi: On the occasion of Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav’s birthday on Wednesday his party members and workers displayed many posters of Akhilesh Yadav, some portraying him as Lord Krishna carrying the Constitution in his hands and some showing him as saviour of Lord Ram’s treasure, carrying bow and arrow.Earlier, the city witnessed the arrival of his wife and MP Dimple Yadav, his son Arjun Yadav and daughter Tina Yadav on Sunday and Monday, offering prayers and performing rituals at the Ganga. On Tuesday, the celebration started gaining momentum.By Wednesday morning, SP leaders and workers had installed hoardings and posters portraying their leader in the form of deities. SP functionary Ajay Fauji said these hoardings and posters expressed sentiment of his followers, showcasing Akhilesh’s struggle to save the Constitution in public interest and for social justice.In the stretch between Kutchehri and Lahurabir, several hoardings showed Akhilesh with bow and arrow and triggered political discussion. Akhilesh was depicted as saviour of Lord Ram’s exchequer, his image with bow and arrow was printed with Ayodhya Ram temple in the background. The poster read, “Akhilesh Yadav’s bow will bring them down whoever steals from Ram Mandir.”SP leaders were also seen performing ‘yagya’ rituals along the Ganga and distributing sweets, while office-bearers including Lalu Yadav were stopped from coming out of their house, leading to heated argument between him and policemen and its video went viral on social media.
