Dimapur: Nagaland governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Thursday said the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) agreement would boost development in eastern Nagaland.The FNTA, covering six eastern districts, is expected to improve infrastructure, strengthen institutions and expand opportunities for residents, he said.The agreement was signed by the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), the Centre and Nagaland govt in New Delhi on Feb 5. The Nagaland assembly passed the FNTA Bill 2026 on Sept 3.Yadav described the agreement as a milestone reflecting the importance of dialogue and democratic engagement in addressing the region’s aspirations.He was speaking at an interactive session with govt officials and civil society representatives at the Tuensang Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall during his visit to the district.Yadav said Tuensang’s people had shown resilience despite geographical and infrastructure challenges. He called for cooperation between govt and residents to ensure good governance and equitable development.
