Ahmedabad: Based on passenger profiling, the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Ahmedabad customs at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI) intercepted a passenger with 973g of hydroponic marijuana on Tuesday.The male passenger, a resident of Surat, had arrived from Bangkok, said investigators.‘During examination of one paper carry bag in his cabin baggage, officers recovered green-coloured substance concealed inside two plastic packets containing total 30 small printed packets said to contain ‘dehydrated guava’. On preliminary testing with the NDPS field test kit, the substance tested positive for ganja (marijuana). The total weight of the recovered contraband is 973.23g,’ according to a release by the department.The contraband has been seized and the passenger arrested under NDPS Act, 1985, said officials, adding that probe has begun to identify the sender and receiver of the contraband.
