Ahmedabad: Five railway employees of Western Railway’s Ahmedabad division were awarded for their contribution to safe train operations. The certificates of appreciation was awarded on Monday by divisional railway manager Ved Prakash. Their timely detection of technical and operational irregularities helped prevent potential accidents and disruptions.Locomotive pilot Ajaysinh R and assistant loco pilot Sunil Patel detected an abnormal jerk while operating the Jodhpur-Sabarmati Express and promptly alerted railway officials, leading to speed restrictions in the affected section. Assistant loco pilot Bunty Kumar Meena detected a broken secondary helical spring on a locomotive at Surat station, preventing a possible technical failure.Technician Grade-I Sarfaraz identified a broken primary helical spring during locomotive inspection. Technician Grade-III Mera Bhai detected a damaged G-jumper in overhead equipment during track inspection.
