Jaipur: In the aftermath of the June 9 firecracker factory explosion that claimed eight lives, Jaipur East police launched an extensive crackdown on illegal commercial activities in the Kho Nagoriyan area, seizing 75 illegally stored LPG cylinders and identifying seven unauthorised warehouses during a large-scale enforcement drive.SHO Prakash Ram said action was taken against illegal LPG refilling operations at six locations during raids conducted under a special campaign launched following the blast. Separate cases were registered under the Essential Commodities Act, and efforts are under way to arrest those involved. Officials said the crackdown forms part of a broader investigation into the firecracker factory explosion and other illegally operated units in the area.Police teams are continuing searches for accused persons, including Qayum Khan, Yakub Khan and Firoz, who are wanted in connection with the firecracker factory case and other related investigations. As part of the exercise, about 30 police personnel conducted a door-to-door survey in Kho Nagoriyan village and adjoining localities, including Bhavgarh Bandhya, Khori Ropada, Patiyon Ki Dhani and areas around JNU Hospital. During the survey, police searched nearly 100 houses and inspected warehouses operating in the area.Officials said seven warehouses allegedly operating without authorisation and dealing in plastic scrap, textile waste, furniture and food products were identified and sealed. Notices will be issued to the owners, while details were forwarded to the Jaipur Municipal Corporation and Jaipur Development Authority for further action. Police also organised neighbourhood committee meetings and urged residents to report illegal industrial and storage activities operating in residential areas.
