PUNE: Attending the birthday party of the son of a criminal on records proved costly for three police constables as they were suspended for their act.Additional commissioner of police Sanjay Patil issued their suspension order on Friday evening. One of the suspended constables is of Faraskhana police station and the two others are posted with the city traffic police branch.The three suspended constables had attended the party organised on July 2 to celebrate the birthday of the criminal’s son. Earlier, action was taken under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act against the criminal.The constables’ presence at the party came to the notice of senior police officers after their photographs were loaded on social media sites. Subsequently, an inquiry was conducted.Following the inquiry, the department initiated disciplinary action against all the three personnel and suspended them. The suspension order stated that the conduct of the three personnel was undisciplined and irresponsible, and that their association with the family of a criminal on police records had tarnished the image of the police force.
