FIR against 4 for constructions on Noida airport land
Noida International Airport’s first phase is awaiting launch

Noida: An FIR was registered against four men for allegedly raising illegal structures on land earmarked for the expansion of Noida International Airport in Jewar, despite a formal notification barring any fresh construction or transactions there. The FIR was lodged after lekhpal Niranjan Mishra inspected Mukimpur Shiwara, around 4km from the airport site, and found widespread unauthorised constructions. The village falls in the airport project’s third phase, for which the state govt issued a notification on April 11 last year.Mishra said the notified land includes villages such as Rohi, Parohi, Banwaribas, Ramner, Kishorpur, Sabota and Mukimpur Shiwara. Under Section 11(4) of the Resettlement and Rehabilitation Scheme, 2013, no transaction or construction is allowed on such land from the date of notification. He named four residents of Nangla Jahanu — Imran, Samshu, Nasir and Mubarak — alleging that they were carrying out construction on plot number 235 in Mukimpur Shiwara.Officials said the R&R scheme provides not only land compensation but also financial assistance for relocation of houses, which may be driving attempts to build on notified land. Mishra said any such fresh construction would inflate the compensation burden and therefore had to be stopped.Jewar SHO Sanjay Kumar Singh said police registered the case under Section 223 of BNS for disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant, and Section 329(3) for criminal trespass. The airport project has already seen large-scale acquisition in earlier phases. The state acquired 1,334 hectares in phase 1 and 1,365 hectares in phase 2 at Rs 2,100 and Rs 3,100 per sqm, respectively. It now plans to acquire 2,053 hectares in phases 3 and 4 at Rs 4,300 per sqm.
