Snarls are likely to worsen as people head to shopping hub

Noida: Anticipating heavy footfall at major markets and shopping malls during the festive season, traffic police have issued an advisory for Nov 5 to 8, urging commuters to use public transport and designated parking facilities to avoid congestion. The advisory comes ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali celebrations, when a large number of shoppers are expected to visit commercial hubs, particularly Sector 18 Atta Market and shopping malls in the city. The diversions will be implemented around Atta Market depending on traffic conditions to ensure smooth vehicular movement. Vehicles travelling from Atta Peer Chowk towards Atta Chowk will be diverted left towards Rai Residency Chowk. Commuters will then have to take a right turn towards Cambridge School, make a U-turn beneath the elevated road and proceed through Sector 28 Car Market to reach their destinations.Similarly, vehicles moving from Atta Chowk towards Atta Peer Chowk will be directed left towards the Great India Place (GIP) Mall. They will take a U-turn beneath the Film City flyover before proceeding towards DLF and Centre Stage Mall.Traffic approaching Sector 18 Metro Station from the Film City flyover or Sector 18 gurdwara side will be directed through the Sector 18 underpass. In Dadri, the movement of heavy, medium and light goods vehicles between Luharli Toll Plaza and NTPC Tiraha will remain restricted under existing no-entry orders. If required, traffic on Railway Road may also be diverted from the bypass junction before the railway flyover towards NTPC Tiraha.Existing no-entry restrictions on heavy, medium and light goods vehicles along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will also remain in force.Traffic police have advised residents to avail themselves of metro services and other public transport options while visiting crowded markets and shopping centres. Motorists have also been instructed not to park vehicles along public roads and instead use designated parking spaces within markets and malls.Officials said the measures are intended to minimise traffic disruptions and facilitate smoother movement during the festive shopping period.
