On Sunday, GRP officers at the Sainthia station rescued a stranded family —a woman and her two sons, one aged three and the other five—from Morigaon in Assam. The three inadvertently boarded a wrong train and found themselves at Sainthia station. GRP officers took them to the station’s women’s help desk and contacted her family in Assam. Her father, Sirajul Islam, arrived on Monday and took them home.
