New Delhi: A tight security net will remain in place in Delhi Monday, with the Congress expected hold a protest march to the Supreme Court in the afternoon.Leader of opposition, Congress’ Rahul Gandhi announced a ‘Chalo Dilli’ march from Connaught Place at 1.30pm.Left student outfits have been protesting in the city for the past two days, demanding the removal of CEC Gyanesh Kumar.Heavy barricading was seen on both days, while mobile internet and Metro curbs were in place Saturday.According to police sources, heavy security will be in place Monday as well, as the flash protests by student bodies are expected as well.Metro and Internet curbs, however, are unlikely.In a post on X, Gandhi invited civil society members to join the march as well.“Tomorrow, we will march to the Supreme Court as Indians, united beyond party, gender, caste, community and state. Youth, all opposition parties, civil society groups, all those who believe in democracy and stand by the Constitution of India, will walk with us. We will submit a memorandum to the Chief Justice on behalf of the nation, demanding an end to vote chori, halting of SIR and the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar,” he posted.
