Ensure timely completion of infra works in Dibrugarh: Min to govt officials

Dibrugarh: State water resources minister and Dibrugarh’s guardian minister Sushanta Borgohain on Wednesday assessed the progress of ongoing projects and implementation of public welfare schemes in the district.Borgohain reviewed department-wise physical and financial progress and directed officials to ensure timely completion of works. He also asked district authorities to make govt programmes more people-centric to ensure benefits reach intended beneficiaries without leakages.Departments presented updates on road works, drinking water supply, health infrastructure, education initiatives and rural livelihood schemes. The health and water resources departments reported progress on upgrading primary health centres and expanding drinking water coverage in remote revenue circles, while the public works department reported on road patching, maintenance and rural connectivity projects.

Flood mitigation, riverbank protection, drainage improvement and strengthening local market infrastructure were discussed as district-specific priorities.Cabinet minister Bimal Borah, too, attended the meeting, along with district commissioner Bikram Kairi, senior officials from all departments, Rajya Sabha MP Terash Gowala, and MLAs Prasanta Phukan, Chakradhar Gogoi, Binod Hazarika and Taranga Gogoi.
