DPR for Hyderabad-Pune-Mumbai bullet train ready, says Komatireddy

Hyderabad: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday said the detailed project report (DPR) for the 761-km Hyderabad-Pune-Mumbai high-speed rail corridor has already been completed, with officials directed to fast-track the next phases of execution.At a review meeting on proposed high-speed rail corridors, the minister said the Hyderabad-Mumbai-Pune corridor will feature 12 stations, including elevated and underground sections, along with a 4.6-km tunnel near Vikarabad. Once operational, the project is expected to reduce travel time between Hyderabad and Mumbai to under three hours, with trains operating at speeds of up to 330 kmph.The Future City-Chennai corridor, passing through Amaravati, is progressing with active cooperation from the Andhra Pradesh govt, while alignment plans for the Future City-Bengaluru corridor, covering key regions such as Mannanur and Somasila, were also reviewed in detail. Terming these as “economic growth corridors,” Komatireddy said key policy decisions will be taken in consultation with the chief minister to accelerate their rollout.He called for seamless collaboration between central and state agencies and assured full support from the Telangana govt for the timely completion of these transformative projects. The review also covered progress on major infrastructure works, including roads, bridges, railway overbridges (ROBs), and the high court building, with the minister directing the officials to maintain timelines and ensure accountability in execution. He stated that the TIMS hospital at Sanathnagar will be inaugurated on June 2, coinciding with the State Formation Day.
