Guwahati: A 33-year-old man was arrested on Friday for allegedly robbing a residence at Doordarshan colony in city’s Borbari area.Dispur police station officers have identified the accused as Tridip Kumar Das (33), a resident of Misamari town in Sonitpur district. “Das was staying in the city with his fiancée, who is a teacher at a private school,” an officer said.The incident took place last Saturday, following which the victim, identified as Mrinal Boro, filed a complaint. “Based on technical analysis and the available CCTV footage, we were able to nab Das, and a case has been registered,” the officer also said.The police recovered the dummy gun, allegedly used during the robbery, from Das.According to the police, Das allegedly forced his way into a flat when only a minor was present. He reportedly threatened the minor with the dummy gun before targeting an almirah, from which he stole cash and other valuables, before fleeing the scene.
