Bengaluru: The shifting of imprisoned former MP Prajwal Revanna to a different jail is making news. The decision was initially taken based on a city police report that nine convicts, including Prajwal, be shifted to different prisons in the state as they were found using mobile phones and other electronic gadgets.Last week, it was decided to shift Prajwal to Hindalga prison in Belagavi and accordingly, a police vehicle carrying the former MP and escorted by armed police started its journey from Bengaluru Central Prison. When the vehicle reached Sira in Tumakuru, a call was made to the escorting police officials, directing them to return immediately and lodge the former MP back in Bengaluru Central Prison.According to DGP (prisons and correctional services) Alok Kumar, the prison superintendent at Hindalga prison expressed concern, saying it would be difficult to provide adequate security to Prajwal and hence, the proposal to shift has been kept on hold for now. However, Alok Kumar did not confirm whether Prajwal had travelled till Tumakuru or not.
