Dairy farmer beaten to death, family alleges revenge attack

Hisar: A 35-year-old dairy farmer died after he was allegedly dragged off his motorcycle and brutally assaulted by a group of 10 to 12 men in Hisar’s Surya Nagar area on Tuesday morning. Police have launched an investigation, while the victim’s family has refused to allow the postmortem until all those involved are arrested.The deceased, Jeevan, was on his way to dispose of cattle waste around 5:30am when he was allegedly intercepted by a group of neighbours. According to the family, the assailants pulled him off his motorcycle and attacked him with sticks, inflicting severe injuries before escaping from the scene.Jeevan was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. A video purportedly recorded before his death shows him with deep wounds on his legs and visible swelling.In the video, he names a neighbour, Ramesh, along with several others, alleging that they had assaulted him.Family members said that the murder motive was an ongoing neighbourhood dispute. They claimed that about six weeks ago, Jeevan had a spat with Ramesh over dumping of cattle waste. In another incident, during the construction of a cattle trough in a dairy, Jeevan’s rivals allegedly attacked his wife with a weapon resembling a spear.Demanding immediate arrest of the accused, family members said they would not allow the postmortem till action was taken.Further investigation is on.
