Kota: An elderly couple riding a motorbike to Kota to celebrate their son’s birthday were killed after a speeding truck ran them over on the Kota-Lalsot mega highway near Gudla Toll Plaza under Keshoraipatan police station limits in Bundi district Thursday.The deceased were identified as Kaidar Lal Sharma (70), a retired teacher, and his wife Geeta Devi (65), residents of Kapren town in Bundi district.Police said the couple was travelling to Kota on a motorbike when they likely lost balance and fell on the road. A speeding truck coming from behind ran over them with its tire, killing them both on the spot.Keshoraipatan police handed over the bodies to family members after post-mortem and lodged a case against the truck driver. The driver was yet to be traced, but the truck has been seized, police said.
