Cong mum in midst of anti-national slogans, says Rao

Hyderabad: Launching a sharp attack on Congress, BJP state president N Ramchander Rao on Friday asked the party to explain its alleged links with forces conspiring to bring about “regime change” by creating anarchy and violence similar to that witnessed in Bangladesh.Speaking to the media at the BJP state office, Rao questioned why Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, who he said carries a copy of the Constitution and speaks about protecting it, remained silent on what he described as attempts to undermine constitutional values. He alleged that certain individuals were holding the national flag in one hand while attempting to create riots and anarchy with foreign funding. He questioned why Congress remained silent while, according to him, anti-national slogans and conspiracies were being promoted across the country.“What is Congress’s stand on the anti-national remarks made by Prashant Bhushan, AISA and CJP leaders?” Rao asked.Rao demanded that Congress clarify its position on statements about drawing inspiration from developments in Bangladesh to bring about a similar “regime change” in India.“India is the world’s largest democracy. Here, elections are held under the Constitution, with one coalition winning and another losing according to the people’s mandate. Does Congress support forces declaring that they will bring regime change in India by taking inspiration from Bangladesh-style destruction and violence?” he asked.“Unable to win democratically, Rahul Gandhi has joined hands with anti-social forces,” Rao alleged.
