Complete voter verification before July 14:  Panchkula DC

Times News NetworkPanchkula: Deputy commissioner and district election officer Satpal Sharma urged all eligible voters in Panchkula to complete the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls by submitting voter verification forms to their respective booth level officers (BLOs) before July 14.Sharma said the verification drive aims at preparing an accurate and error-free electoral roll. He urged residents to cooperate with election officials by filling out and submitting verification forms within the stipulated deadline.The deputy commissioner also directed supervisors and BLOs to expedite collection of voter verification forms and ensure that the door-to-door verification campaign is completed on time. He said the eligibility date for the Special Intensive Revision is July 1.According to the district election officer, BLOs have already started distributing voter enumeration forms through a door-to-door campaign across the district. Electors are required to complete and return these forms to their respective BLOs by July 14, following which the election department will prepare a revised and error-free voters’ list.The final electoral roll will be published on Sept 22, after completion of the verification process.Sharma also cautioned citizens against fraud, clarifying that the election department never asks voters to share OTPs or click on links for voter verification. Instead, authorised BLOs will personally visit voters to collect the required information.He urged people to remain vigilant against cyber fraud and cooperate only with officially designated election staff. “The objective of the Special Intensive Revision is to ensure a transparent, accurate and error-free electoral roll, which is essential for strengthening the democratic process,” he said.
