City second hottest in state at 43.3°C

Ahmedabad: The city on Saturday recorded a maximum temperature of 43.3°C, which was 1.6 degrees higher than normal. It was the second consecutive day of 43°C-plus temperature for the city. At 28 degrees, the minimum temperature, too, was 1.8 degrees higher than normal. During morning and evening hours, the citizens got a bit of respite with breeze.According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the city may experience a maximum temperature around 43°C on Sunday. The city was second hottest in the state after 43.5°C recorded in Surendranagar.“No large change in maximum temperatures during next 24 hours, gradual fall by 2-3°C during subsequent 3 days; thereafter no large change very likely over the region. Maximum temperatures are very likely to be above 40°C at isolated pockets of the Gujarat state during next three days,” according to IMD forecast.
