Varanasi: Chaos erupted in the Varanasi District Judge’s court on Friday after a woman sat on the judge’s chair and refused to get up. Court staff requested her to vacate the seat, but she remained seated, leading to a commotion.Hearing the disturbance, other staff members, advocates and police personnel rushed to the spot and asked the woman to leave the chair. However, she reportedly began arguing.Police personnel deployed for court security then called women cops, who removed the woman from the courtroom and handed her over to the Cantt police station.According to police, the woman is a resident of the Shivpur area and is mentally unstable. DCP (Varuna Zone) Pramod Kumar said that after questioning, the Cantt police dropped her back home.He added that the incident occurred at a time when the District Judge was on leave, and court proceedings were being conducted in another courtroom.
