Chandigarh: City judokas Angel Yadav and Ishroop Narang brought laurels to India by winning bronze medals at the Junior Asian Judo Championship 2026 in Amman, Jordan.Angel clinched bronze in the -48kg category after defeating her opponent from Chinese Taipei, while Ishroop secured bronze in the -78kg category with a win over a judoka from Kyrgyzstan.A 14-time national champion, Angel began training at the age of 12 and already has two international medals to her name. Her father, Angrej Bahadur Yadav, said all five of his children are judo players and that Angel’s achievement had made the family proud.Ishroop, a BA second-year student at MCM DAV College, Chandigarh, has won several medals at national and international events. Qualifying for the Commonwealth Games is considered the biggest milestone of her career so far.Both athletes have trained under coach Vivek Thakur since their grassroots days at the Sector 34 Sports Complex. Congratulating the duo, Chandigarh Amateur Judo Association general secretary NS Thakur said their success reflected years of dedication, discipline and hard work.
