Bengaluru: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a chargesheet against Ozone Urbana Infra Developers Pvt Ltd and its director in Bengaluru for allegedly defrauding thousands of homebuyers.The accused lured victims with false promises of paying pre-construction EMIs but misappropriated funds without delivering the apartments, says the chargesheet.Earlier, CBI filed 16 chargesheets against different builders for allegedly cheating investors/buyers.Investigation revealed the accused builder company and its director, in furtherance of criminal conspiracy, allegedly induced innocent homebuyers/investors through false assurances, misleading representations and deceptive promises, thereby dishonestly obtaining financial gains while causing wrongful loss to the victims.CBI is investigating another 32 cases following Supreme Court’s directions against various builder companies and unknown officials of financial institutions across the country in matters concerning alleged cheating and diversion of funds involving homebuyers.The agency has so far filed chargesheets against Rudra Buildwell Constructions Pvt Ltd, Dream Procon Pvt Ltd, Jaypee Infratech Ltd, AVJ Developers (India) Pvt Ltd, CHD Developers Pvt Ltd, Sequel Buildcon Pvt Ltd, Logix City Developers Pvt Ltd, Manju J Homes India Ltd, Shubhkamna Buildtech Pvt Ltd, Ninex Developers Ltd, Decent Buildwell Pvt Ltd, Rudra Buildwell Projects Pvt Ltd, Ithaca Estate Pvt Ltd, LGCL Urban Homes (India) LLP and Saha Infratech Pvt Ltd.
