Lucknow: An awareness session on cancer screening and early diagnosis was held in a city hospital on Friday.The sessions covered cancer warning signs, targeted chemotherapy, oral cancer and tobacco-related risks, breast cancer screening and treatment, cervical cancer screening, and HPV vaccination.The programme was organised at Era Lucknow Medical College under the ‘Anandi Maa – Ek Jeevan Bachao Abhiyan’ and ‘Cancer-Free India Yatra’, in association with the Cancer Aid Society.Vice-chancellor Prof Abbas Ali Mehdi said cancer prevention should remain a priority and called for greater public awareness and timely screening.A panel discussion covered HPV vaccination, cancer screening and early diagnosis, with specialists from ENT, surgery, gynaecology, medicine, neurosurgery, pathology and orthopaedics participating.Pro-vice-chancellor Prof Farzana Mehdi also attended the programme.
