Gurgaon: A real estate developer has been booked for selling the same plot of land to two different individuals, police said. The fraud came to light after a Delhi resident alleged he bought the land from the builder for more than Rs 10 lakh but it was never handed over. He later came to know the same plot was sold to another buyer at a higher price.The accused, Rajan Singh, is a resident of Sector 69 and the authorised signatory of Lotus Dream Projects and Developers (OPC).According to the complaint filed by Vijay Pandit, a resident of Vasant Kunj in south Delhi, he had purchased a 60 sq yard plot in the Winsome Homes project located in Bandhwari village. He alleged that he paid more than Rs 10 lakh to the company and executed a buyer’s agreement. The complainant stated that no payment was pending from his side.Despite this, the company failed to hand over the plot to him. Pandit said whenever he asked for the possession, company officials abused and threatened him.The complainant also alleged that he later discovered that the plot he had bought had been sold to another buyer at a higher price. He told police that he had invested his lifetime savings and had also borrowed money to buy the land. Not getting possession of the land had caused him financial loss, he said.He requested that either possession of the plot be handed over to him or the amount paid by him be refunded.On the basis of his complaint, an FIR was registered at Sector 56 police station on Thursday under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC against Singh. The investigation has been handed over to Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Cell-1.
