Gurgaon: An argument over moving a vehicle at a CNG petrol pump near Ghamroj Toll Plaza on Sohna Highway escalated into a violent clash on Thursday, with the fight spilling onto the carriageway and disrupting traffic.Police registered an FIR and launched an investigation.A police officer told TOI that three youths travelling in a WagonR car allegedly tried to jump the queue at the CNG station. “When the petrol pump staff asked them to wait in line, they became aggressive and assaulted the employees. During the assault, the accused allegedly picked up a brick lying nearby and attempted to attack the complainant and his colleague, besides threatening them to kill,” the officer said.The youths then allegedly called more people to the spot, after which members of both sides engaged in a physical fight. A video of the incident, which went viral on social media, shows two groups chasing each other, exchanging punches, kicks and stones.During the clash, both groups ran onto the highway without paying attention to oncoming traffic, creating a dangerous situation for commuters and adding to the chaos on the busy stretch.Police reached the spot after receiving information about the clash, but the youths fled by the time officers arrived.Some petrol pump employees and youths sustained minor injuries in the incident. “It was learnt that the two injured persons were initially taken to Civil Hospital, Sohna, for treatment and were later referred to Civil Hospital, Sector-10, for further medical care,” a police officer said.Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the petrol pump along with the viral video to identify those involved. Police said efforts are under way to trace the accused.
