Sonipat: A 14-year-old schoolboy died after allegedly coming into contact with a live electricity pole while playing near a drain in Haryana’s Sonipat district on Friday.The incident occurred when Ankit Kumar, a Class VII student, was playing with his friends near drain number 8 in Barota village, said his father Vinod Kumar, holding the power department responsible.The daily-wage labourer said he filed a police complaint against the department alleging negligence in maintaining electrical infrastructure and dangerously low hanging wires in the village.Police registered a case under Section 106(1) of the BNS at Kundli police station. An FSL team inspected the site. Villagers have demanded immediate repairs to prevent further tragedies.
