Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Monday converted a petition filed to highlight the concerns and safety of tribal students into a public interest litigation. Last week, students in Pune went on hunger strike after a student of an ashram school elsewhere had died from food poisoning and three others also died due to snake bites.State advocate general Milind Sathe submitted minutes of a meeting held by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday, and also the Tribal Development Department’s GR which set out an action plan to tackle the students’ woes. The GR said a mess facility would be provided for tribal students.
