Chandigarh: Reacting to statements by BJP functionaries about the party’s decision to contest the upcoming Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections independently or in an alliance, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab media in charge Baltej Pannu said the party was least concerned about the saffron party’s electoral strategy. He said that AAP would seek a fresh mandate from the people based on its historic development initiatives and achievements in Punjab. Expressing confidence in the party’s prospects, Pannu said AAP would return to power, with chief minister Bhagwant Mann set to serve a second consecutive term.Taking a dig at the BJP leadership, Pannu said the party itself appeared completely confused about its electoral strategy. “On one hand, BJP leaders talk about contesting all 117 Assembly seats independently, while on the other, they speak about entering into an alliance. This contradictory stand clearly reflects the confusion within the BJP.”He said that whether the BJP contests all 117 seats independently or allies with another party, the people of Punjab would never vote for it. “The people of Punjab have not forgotten that 750 farmers sacrificed their lives at the borders of Delhi because of the BJP,” he said.
