BJP’s Akshita Saini files papers for Ambala mayoral polls; Vij predicts big win

Ambala: Haryana cabinet minister Anil Vij and Delhi cabinet minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Thursday accompanied candidate Akshita Saini to file her nomination papers for the Ambala municipal corporation elections and expressed confidence of a decisive victory. Akshita filed her nomination at the Ambala City ADC office. Earlier, a rally was organised in which the leaders highlighted works undertaken by the BJP govts in recent years. Vij said having the same party in power at the Centre, state and local levels would help ensure better delivery of public services. “This alignment helps govt zschemes reach people more effectively; otherwise, even basic services can sometimes face disruptions,” he said. Taking a swipe at West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee over the ongoing elections, Vij said she appears “fatigued” and should “rest under a shade.” He claimed that electoral conditions in West Bengal have improved compared to the past, with voters turning out in large numbers. He attributed this to the leadership and arrangements under PM Modi, asserting that the BJP is likely to form the govt in the state with a strong mandate.Addressing the gathering, minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa described Akshita as an educated and energetic young candidate, adding that the enthusiasm among the public indicates that Ambala is ready for a new phase of development. Sirsa also highlighted the BJP’s focus on women’s empowerment under PM Modi, stating that the party has demonstrated its commitment by fielding a woman candidate. He added that the strong public support in Ambala signals a favourable outcome for the BJP, with voters seemingly ready to elect Akshita as mayor and provide her an opportunity to serve the city.MSID:: 130496141 413 |
