Chandigarh: BJP wants to win 2027 Punjab assembly elections with the help of leaders facing serious allegations, said AAP after three of its MLAs, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, Chetan Singh Jouramajra and Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, joined the saffron party on Monday. In a press statement, AAP Punjab president Aman Arora on Monday said BJP is inducting leaders facing serious allegations because it lacks leadership, an agenda and an organisational base in the state. He said while AAP had acted against its own lawmakers, BJP was welcoming such leaders into its ranks.Pathanmajra faces a rape case, Jouramajra was dropped the cabinet in 2024 and Singh suspended from AAP in June 2025.AAP Punjab media in charge Baltej Pannu too hit out at BJP for celebrating the induction of individuals whom it had already distanced itself from because of their conduct. “AAP is not going to be affected by the departure of two or three individuals. Our party stands on its principles and its commitment to Punjab. No individual is bigger than the organisation,” he said.
