Jind: Haryana BJP state president Dr Archana Gupta travelled from Gohana to Jind on the hydrogen-powered train on Wednesday and said work was underway to extend the service to Delhi in the next phase.Gupta, who travelled with party workers, interacted with women, youth and senior citizens to seek feedback on the train and its facilities, particularly women’s safety and travel experience.Talking to TOI, she said the first phase of the hydrogen train trial between Jind and Sonipat had been successful. She described the train as a symbol of India’s move towards cleaner, greener and self-reliant transportation.As part of the BJP’s “Kahani Badlav Ki” campaign under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, Gupta also highlighted railway development over the past 12 years, citing railway data. She said 3,66,250 bio-toilets were installed between 2014 and February 2026, compared with 9,587 between 2004 and 2014. Track additions rose to 36,429 km between 2014 and 2026 from 14,985 km in the preceding decade.She said all unmanned level crossings on the broad-gauge network had been eliminated and cited electronic interlocking at 6,671 stations by June 2026.Gupta also highlighted Vande Bharat trains, station redevelopment, dedicated freight corridors and the Chenab Railway Bridge as examples of railway modernisation. “The true assessment of development can only be made when its impact is visible in the everyday lives and journeys of ordinary citizens,” she said.
