‘BJP-backed goons force TMC worker to jump off 3rd floor’ | Kolkata News

Katwa: Trinamool national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Tuesday posted a video alleging that BJP-backed miscreants had attacked a TMC party office in Katwa, forcing party worker Sandip Kumar Ghosh to jump from the third floor of the building.Slamming politics of “intimidation and terror”, Banerjee wrote: “This is the jungle Raj that the BJP has unleashed in Bengal. In a shocking act of political violence, Sandip Kumar Ghosh (Karna) was brutally assaulted by BJP-backed miscreants and then forced to jump from the third floor… He is now battling for his life with a brain haemorrhage.”After Ghosh’s jump, the Gangatikuri resident, with head injury and a fractured leg, was taken to Katwa Hospital and then to Burdwan Medical College. Former TMC MLA Rabindra Nath Chatterjee alleged that the attackers had pushed Ghosh from the third floor. While police said no case had been registered, Katwa BJP MLA Krishna Ghosh denied TMC allegations, saying an angry mob had chased Ghosh who jumped out in fear. He said the BJP was not involved in the matter.
