BHU security personnel trained on life-saving skills

Varanasi: Security personnel at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) underwent life-saving skills training to deal with emergency situations. The programme was organized under the joint aegis of the proctorial board and the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS). A total of 100 security personnel, including 10 women took part in the programme.During the training, the participants were given information on identifying and providing first aid in cases of heart attack, stroke, road accident, excessive bleeding, unconsciousness, head injury and other medical emergencies. Experts conducted practical exercises on CPR, airway management, techniques to stop bleeding, and ways to keep an injured person safe. With the help of modern training models, the personnel were trained for quick response in emergency situations.Prof Shashi Prakash Mishra of general surgery department, Prof Manjari Mishra of anesthesia department, Dr Shubhi Dubey of neurosurgery department, and Dr Prakhar Jaiswal provided guidance as trainers. The program was coordinated by chief security officer Sandeep Pokhariya and members of the proctorial board.
