Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday said that govt is fully committed to the social, economic, and educational development of minorities in the state. He issued instructions to collectors on land protection and acquisition for new burial grounds.Thedeputy CM, who conducted a review meeting at the secretariat to assess the progress of minority welfare initiatives and various development works, directed officials to take necessary legal measures to protect waqf and other minority properties from encroachment.
He emphasised the need to prioritise the construction of compound walls around graveyards and instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan immediately. “District collectors will be directed to identify and allocate land for burial grounds in districts and division headquarters with significant Muslim populations,” he added.On the occasion of the Urdu Academy golden jubilee celebrations, Bhatti announced that ‘mushairas’, showcasing Urdu culture, would be organised not only in Hyderabad but all district headquarters. He directed the officials to make necessary arrangements for the main event at LB Stadium.“Focus on completing the pending works without delay, prepare a fixed timeline, and ensure close monitoring so that all remaining schools are completed at the earliest,” he said, when officials informed him that 20 schools were ready for inauguration, while another 17 were under construction.He announced that under Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, financial assistance would be provided to support minority youth in self-employment and help them achieve economic independence. Additionally, he stated that ₹50 crore would be allocated for the welfare of Christians, aimed at supporting youth through financial assistance for self-employment.During the meeting, minority welfare minister Mohd Azharuddin invited the deputy CM to attend a special programme on the ninth day of Muharram, June 25.He also sought approval for the establishment of degree colleges, 10 each for boys and girls.
