Bengaluru: A 13-year-old boy, who went missing from his south Bengaluru home after being scolded and beaten by his father for bringing home aquarium fish without informing the family, was traced Friday.The class 7 student lives with his parents. According to a complaint filed by his mother, a tailor, his father sells tea on the roadside.A little over two weeks ago, the boy had brought home aquarium fish, following which his father allegedly scolded and beat him. The boy left home but was later traced to Jayanagar after calling his mother from a stranger’s phone, and was brought back by his parents.On July 27, he returned from school at 4.05pm carrying fish again. Upset over the second such incident, his father allegedly questioned him for spending money on fish instead of focusing on his studies, slapped him twice, and asked him to attend tuition before leaving for work. The boy had stolen Rs 200 from his father’s trousers.Around 45 minutes later, the boy left home on his bicycle, telling his family he was going to give the fish to a friend. When he failed to return, his family searched for him and later lodged a complaint. Police registered a kidnapping case.A senior officer said the boy was traced Friday at his grandmother’s house. He had not informed her about the incident. He has since been reunited with his family.
