Bengaluru: A family trip turned into a frustrating ordeal for a businessman after gold jewellery weighing 70 grams went missing from his checked-in luggage during a flight from Bengaluru to Mumbai.Fraser Town resident Nauman Siddiq, 58, said he had booked tickets on Akasa Air flight QP-1528 on July 13. He reached Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) around 10am for the journey and carried a bag containing gold jewellery. According to Nauman, the luggage was checked, tagged and sealed at the airport. After security officials cleared the baggage, he travelled to Mumbai.However, upon checking his bag after reaching Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Nauman found the jewellery and a few items were missing.He approached CSMIA authorities and sought information about the missing items, but in vain. He subsequently contacted the customer service of Akasa Airlines and enquired about the valuables, but the items were reportedly not recovered, Nauman said.Nauman filed a complaint with KIA police Wednesday, requesting them to check CCTV footage at the airport and question the staff. A case has been registered under BNS Section 303 (theft).
