BENGALURU: A group of masked men riding three motorcycles allegedly went on a sudden machete-wielding attack on people on the streets of Bengaluru, leaving four persons injured, police said.The incident, which occurred around 9pm on Sunday near Arehalli Gate on Uttarahalli Main Road, was captured on camera. The attackers, six in number, had their faces covered (four wore helmets while two wore masks) police said.The group first attacked Kiran N and his friend, who were standing by the roadside near Maramma Circle, without any apparent provocation, according to police.Minutes later, the men moved towards a fish stall near the Arehalli arch and allegedly attacked two more persons, identified as Raju and Ravi.The attacks triggered panic among residents and others in the area.Four people were injured in the attacks. Three have since been discharged from hospital after treatment, while one remains under treatment, police said.Deputy commissioner of police (Southwest) SK Soumyalatha said four suspects had been identified and three special teams had been formed under Subramanyapura police station limits to trace and arrest them.“Around 9pm, miscreants arrived on motorcycles and attacked Kiran N and his friend near Maramma Circle without any apparent motive. Subsequently, the same group moved near the Arehalli arch, close to a fish stall, and assaulted two persons, Raju and Ravi,” Soumyalatha said.Police said the reason behind the attacks was under investigation.(With inputs from PTI)
